Diet - is that a bad word?

No, not to me it isn't.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mean DIET!! as in.... I want to be skinny. I'm talking Diet, as in.... what's good for you. And for a big woman, I am surprisingly particular about my food intake. I realised I have a fried item about once a week. When you consider that a normal person has 21 meals - not items - a week, that's not a lot. And I'm a huge vege fiend. Anything green get's chomped down. Gimme gimme gimme!

But why this sudden talk about food and intake? Because, for some reason, I'm thinking about the
Eat Right for your Blood Type diet.

It's weird. At Bernie's
workshop, I met a woman who looked good. Actually, she looked INCREDIBLE when it turned out she was in her 60s. She looked... yes... not a day over 40. I kid thee not. Transpires that said woman lives her life by this diet. And I never thought anything of this except to admire how well preserved this woman was.

But for some reason, the last 2 days, I've been thinking about this again. Perhaps I should experiment? Except.... I'm a bloodtype B person and accord to this diet, I'm free to eat pretty much anything except chicken and pork. And guess what? Those are my primary meats.

Damn.... I'm supposed to have veal, lamb, mutton, rabbit. Veal is not a daily meat in Singapore. Lamb and mutton is cooked primarily by the Malays and the Indians so I can't have that (either too heavily spiced, too peppery/hot, or too oily) And rabbit? Shit, the only time I found rabbit on the menu was about 8 years ago in an upmarket Italian place.

So what's a girl to do.... Comments? Feedback? Have any of you tried this?

Eric,

I rather suspect that sicne it's hard to get the foods I "need", I'm going to keep RIGHT on eating chicken and pork. lol.

Seriously, you're welcome abck anytime you have nothing better to do.... ;P

Me bought the book for my blood type and like you, me am also blood type B. What got me was the no chicken part. The thought of not having any more honey barbequed chicken wings or KFC (on days when am feeling like really oily chicken), me have yet to try the diet. But I have spoken to some people who have gone on it and it has worked wonders for them. Hmm...being well preserved versus KFC..should be an easy choice ya *laughs*. Let me know if you're on it and blog your progress please!!!

Liz,
Of course it's an easy choice. KFC will win it hands down! ;)
