Just my luck

Dammit.

I was 99.99% settled on a place on Koh Samui. I'm planning to go again in May since I had such a gorgeous restful vacation last year. It's a small hotel called B1 Villa & Spa but all rooms are suite size (60sqm and more!) with private sun decks! Massage inroom! Dip pool on, I repeat on, the beach! In the last original fisherman's village. Chock full of local places stuffed with culture to explore on foot! All within walking distance! Plus.... I thought... woo! nekked suntanning! here I come, baby! lol

Plus side? B1 is supposed to mean Be One With Yourself. I thought that was cute! The place was built according to FenShui principles and the decor supported local artists. A place built according to energy lines? Holy crap, people, I would come back to Singapore a new woman.

PLUS plus? All the reviews also pointed to a friendly management. Nary a negative review to be had. It seemed perfect.

Aw.... I knew it was too good to be true. I just found out there's a brand new building BEING CONSTRUCTED just behind!

ARGH!

I wanted peace and quiet and I had settled on Bophut Village and I had picked this place because the building was ON the beach and my balcony would look out to the OCEAN and the private sundeck... nekked suntanning not withstanding.. would have been awesome!

Now I have to seriously reconsider. The last thing I want is to have my peace and quiet disrupted by drilling and pounding. Sad face multiplied by a gazillion!

UPDATE :
I emailed B1 and asked them point blank about the construction work going on. They have the cheek to tell me that the room's bathroom is inbetween the balconey and the ongoing work. "no noise at all from beachfront".

Hello? You have a honking huge yellow-top crane towering just behind - which shows me the construction is not small work - and you're telling me the noise will be magically absorbed by my bathroom? Right. Thanks. I think I am no longer interested.
