Rough diamond

I am reminded of the phrase "never judge a book by it's cover"

See, my revered TL is away on maternity leave for 4 months. In her absense, the office called for volunteers to cover her shifts. Out of 4 who responded, there's this 1 guy, N.

N is a little rough around the edges.... he's got long-ish lanky hair, walks with a bold stride, speaks with a slight discernable Indian accent. Wears his cap backwards. To look at N is to imagine a
bhangra session in progress. lol. When I first had N on duty with me, I was a little wary because other (younger) female colleagues mentioned that he did the guy thing - he looked at their boobs.

That's a no no. Not in the office, and not when the women are *not* wearing low cut blouses. lol. But anyways, to cut a long story short, I was wary of N.

Which turned out to be unnecessary as N realised I was, at least, 8 years older and therefore in Old Woman territory (for him. he's only 28.) My first shift with him? I made him tremble lol. Seriously! I shit thee not! I leaned over to show him something on the computer screen and he shivered. I asked him point blank Do I make you nervous? and all he could do was nod tersely.

Now he's ok, and we laugh and joke as equals. Guess he's found out I'm ok after all :)

But here's the thing : since he's only a volunteer, he's not allowed to do the emails that us permanent night shifters do. So he brings books to read. And lo, guess what he's got tonight?

Not quite what I expected from our Indian Hero :))
