Did I tell you guys my Dad built his own kayak?
Heh, he picked up clean cardboard from around our neighbourhood, if it happened to be available. You know the sort, the kind of cardboard box your fridge or TV comes in? Yeah, exactly that. Then he mashed up some papier-mâché to thicken the boards. He then taped it into shape with duct or electrical tape (I couldn't tell which), painted it over and launched it.
Yes, my dad is a man with a sense of humour. Now you lot know why *I* am little off kilter... It's inherited! lol
So anyways, I asked Dad if I could attend his "launch" and last weekend, off we went. I knew it was going to be tough, becuse Dad's kayaking day is always sat morning, but I managed to survive. Yup. came home from work, had a shower, and off we went!
Changi Beach is always peaceful for me, inspite of all the ghost stories floating around. Been coming here a long time :) More lovely lush trees!
And interesting things get washed up too....
Anyways, to cut a long story short, the kayak launched! This post is more vid than anything else, so take your time. I do have to apologise though.... I didn't realise my phone would pick up the sound of the waves more than anything else, so you may have to turn the volume up a tad.
I am seriously thinking of taking up kayaking as a sport. But I can't do it straight off my night shift. Plus, I'm still wary of open waters.....
Oh well. I'll give it some more thought :)

what, you're outdoor sports? Goodness. No wonder i won my 4D lottery.
you're *considering*
Dad is so cute! Hahaha thanks for the post :) How's everyone?
Ooh... next time you go on island trips, especially to phuket or surrounding islands... try some kayaking there.
I once tried in phi phi island, and once in redang, both out to the sea and go island hopping, it wasn't as bad as I tot it would be, tho when big waves starts to hit you... you'll panic.
But all in all, it was challenging, fun and super tiring after! And me at those 2 occasions points, I was paranoid of being drown due to bad experiences, and still don't know how to swim. So long the jacket is on, I suppose there shouldn't be much problems :)
F,
The kayaking looked cool :) But I'm really REALLY wary of standing on icky stuff and shit in the sand. So. Just considering. lol
Gina,
I tend to travel alone so kayaking looses it's allure for me when I go island hoping..... alas.
Your dad is soooo coool!!!!! *grins*
Liz,
