Something different

I didn't tell you guys....

This year, for my bday in July, I couldn't take the entire week off. I had to settle for the weekend off instead. So, no travelling. Instead, what I did was a staycation. Yup. Booked myself into the Changi Village Hotel. Now, I've been going to this Changi Village for years. And to this hotel ever since I could legally drink. lol. It's an interesting hotel with a slightly seedy past. But full of history! I love this area!

This is at the hotel's drive way. And that sunlight streaming through the trees is no special effect. That's straight from my phone camera. It was lovely morning indeed.... I really do love this place!

I think it's an appreciation especially for all those lush, old trees that have been allowed to thrive..... Lovely!

I had booked a club room, thinking it would be cool. I've stayed in their normal rooms before and wanted a treat for myself. Also invited Bernadette since it was also HER bday in July. :)) So along she came! Here we are at the club lounge.. fooling around, as usual. There was no one around. Completely empty about 95% of the time.

Seemed decently decorated. I've always had a fascination with hotel display pieces. Yes, I did go right up and rub the leaves and fowers :))

Oh, and the biscuits they had out. By the time we checked out, those tins had only about half left. hahahhaa.

But I have to tell you lot... the club rooms were terribly disappointing. Same size as the standard ones. I had paid extra only for the biscuits and the free drinks in the lounge. HHhhmmmm. Not worth the extra, let me tell you.

I brought my binoculars. Here I am peering through the windows at the trees outside. We also enjoyed the rooftop.... no swimming, just pure laziness.

I think the hotel has a good thing going. They're not exactly cheap, and they're most certainly not deluxe (although they bill themselves as a 4 star). However, what they do have is a monopoly since they're the only hotel in this area. Still, it was fun, something you do once in a while. Still going back to Changi Village for the food though!!!

OOooo... and enjoy the vids :o

Awesome pictures! I'm looking forward to being able to look at them at more... length... at home.

Thanks for sharing- the Kayak pictures are awesome! Your dad is a hoot.

They have a cardboard boat race here in the US every year. I'll see if I can find a link to it.

Not about the vids loading slowly, more about wanting to be- not at the office- when i watch them. Nice pictures of you too!
