Plug it up!

So.


The sniffles from last week didn't go away. At first it was just a runny nose... no biggie, considering that I just had to carry loads of tissue paper. Manageable. The kind of runny nose that's just irritating. But you're not really sick.


Hoooooboy. Then the runny nose became a clogged nose. Snot remained clear/white, but thickened to the consistency of runny egg yolk. All gooey, sticky, and generally yucky. I can't blow my nose, it's all stiff. I suspect infected sinuses, because my lungs are fine. But now I have to wait for the mucus to gather together into a big enough lump so that I can cough it out.


It's terrible.... it'll creep down the back of my throat, causing amazingly bad itchiness, but you have to control your reflexes... wait for it... wait for it... until there's enough, then One Big Hacking Cough to clear it all out. And if I'm lucky, I'll have enough liquid in my bladder to make me By the way, I was on a training course. So here I am in a room full of people, blowing and coughing my guts out. Not funny. I had to reassure my table I wasn't infectious.


One week later, ow the mucus seems to be drying up, but my through is sore as sore can be. Can't cough without pain. Decided to get professional  help but am decided unwilling. My normal doc won't be around, it'll be some part-time locum dude since it's Sunday. But it's got to be done.


Heh. Doc is surprisingly cute. But he's peering down my gullet, does a double take, and says Do you have any idea how red your throat is? UUuummmmm. Does it matter? It hurts! Which is why I am here to see you! Cute or not cute, gimme my medicine!


So I come home with drugs... ho ho ho.... drugs. One small lime green tablet, one small peach tablet, and my antibiotics are a sunshiney yellow. They look like candy. No wait, they remind me of Pez!




GGggrrrrr.... I hope they bloody work.
