Welcome break

Argh, I have a one week break coming up....

It's assuredly welcome; the last two weeks have been busy and crappy! Fortunately, the Funky Aunty was great in allowing me to use a few days of her alloted timings at Angsana Bintan. woo!

Hotel confirmation came back last Tuesday. So next day, I booked my ferry and - yes, I know I am incorrigible - my spa on the day I arrive too. And today, Thursday, the hotel's confirmed my pickup from the ferry terminal. Yay! Even if it's just bloody
Bintan it's a holiday of sorts!

Ok, backing up a little... Bintan is an island about 50 minutes by fast ferry. Local Singaporean business groups though that since Singapore itself doesn't have much in the way of beaches, a nearby island with top-notch resorts and hotels would be an
ideal playground for Singaporeans.

And it has, all the hotels and resorts are built and backed by (mostly) Singaporean-owned franchises. The local Indonesia businesses use the Sing dollar for all their price tags for virtually ALL tourists, and the hotels charge in USD (and give lousy exchange rates in the process, but hey! It's what hotels do!) But Bintan, without the development brought about by the tourism industry, would still be... well, pretty rural. So one mostly sticks within the hotel environs. One goes to Bintan either to spa/massage or to play golf.

I am about 85% recovered from my stupid sinus infection, so I hope the break will be fuss free for me
*small sigh*

No, I don't golf, but I intend to try and get a massage every day!
