Once in a while

Sometimes I get a call which makes this job absolutely worthwhile :o

Just got a call from a frantic mom. See, we do travel insurance, and her 17-year old boy was stranded in Detroit alone. And apparently, Delta Air was going to leave him stranded there for 2 days. Idiots.

Talked her through the coverage, advised on what we needed offcially to process the claim, and managed to calm her down. The mom even managed to crack a joke in the end. Good-o!

She was very grateful. But *I* am grateful too! She could have gone all ballistic on me because whilst the policy does cover travel delay, we can't reimburse her the 2 days accomodation.

But see.... she was the very soul of an ideal customer. She calmed down very quickly. She was patient. She was gracious. She could have taken her worries out on me, but didn't. It was not hard to return every single courtesy and then some. For customers like these, I'll do my level best to straighten things out at 5am lol.

I can't help wishing I get more calls like this. I genuinely feel happy that I could sort things out as much as humanly possible at this point in time. But I also realise that IF I do, it's at someone else's cost. SO what can one do, eh?

I think I'll just chalk this one down as a fuzzy feel-good feeling....
