Back from the wake.
M's mom was a woman who seemed to bring up 2 strong, upright and much respected kids. No one really knew what happened to M's dad. But it didn't matter. No one asked. it was enough that M was happy.
M's mom lived life.... oh boy, did she live. Right until she was admited into the hospice, she was wearing those cheongsums. Always decorated with baubles and always well groomed. Always bright and cheery, surrounded by friends. Even without the obituary, people came in small but steady stream whilst I was there.
I wasn't very close to M's mom, none of the MBAers were close to anyone else's parents. Isn't that strange? Their daughters went through so much crap together! But I do find the passing a little hard because I'm close to M and it reminds me of my own loved ones' mortaity.
Sombre thoughts, indeed.
