- RANT ALERT -
I've just got confirmation that I've been scheduled on work on Christmas Eve.
The midnight shift.
Backtrack one week ago when the rosters were first announced. Immediately I had emailed the person rostering to say that sorry, give me any OTHER shift apart from the overnight one. I'm Eurasian. I have family to visit on Christmas day. There is no fucking way I can function if I work overnight then hop off to Nanny's house for the traditional Christmas day Lunch.
Back to now - rostering person comes up to me, one week later mind you, and 1) admits that she saw my emailed request but didn't read it properly and 2) sorry, she didn't know I celebrated Christmas.
Fucking hell.
1) as a supervisor, you are OBLIGATED to read your fucking emails.
How many staff requests are shunted off to one side? How the hell do you function if you don't read your emails? How may other emails have you missed from your bosses? Idiot entry level staff I can understand. This, I do not.
2) in Singapore, the Chinese have Chinese New Year, the Malays have 2 Hari Rayas, the Indians have Deepavali. What the fuck do you think the Eurasians had? Bloody what? How bloody insular and myopic do you have to be to not bother? Schedule this idiot for work on CNY and see what kind of fuss SHE kicks up.
Jesus Christ In A Handbasket.
This woman has her head so far up her ignorant ass she doesn't know Eurasians celebrate Christmas? Are you not Singaporean? Where's Sam, the self-important dickwad who based his perception of me on a single post. Sam needs to meet S. Oh great, another (as)S. Perfect!
Can you tell I am seriously irked?
Natural introvert, learned extrovert.
