Idle ramblings

Oh my god.

A couple of things :o

(1) For some reason, we can surf at work again. I don't know why, I dont know when, and I don't know what changed. But I can actually access my gmail now. Its slow as all crap but heck, the fact that we can surf is amazing. When they pulled the plug on surfing, it was a huge thing and they made such a big fuss about it. And now they've backtracked?

The one thing I could NEVER get my head around, at this company, is their short-term goals and direction *shakes head* They implement different measures, for different things, across different departments every.. oh... 4-6 months. It makes working at their call centre challenging, to put it nicely. Because we have to then remember every goddamned fucking thing when advising customers. And I really mean everything. From motor, to health, to investment-linked, to travel and home insurance, to traditional life policies. *rolls eyes* The gamut, boys and girls....

(2) Isn't Dyna a girl's name? Only, I have this guy emailing us. And he spelt his as DEYNA. HHhhmmmm.

(3) I'm always tired. It's sooooo standard for me now. But - oh rarest of rare moments - I thumped my alarm clock and went back to sleep. As a result of which I got into work around midnight when my shift starts at 11pm. So I told my TL that I'd come in 1 hour earlier one day and pay back the time. It's the right thing to do, eh?

But.... said TL sometimes goes down around 2am when things are quiet to meet a close friend who lives close by to our office building. And she doesn't pay back the time. And SHE's gone for about an hour too. So. Should I take a leaf from her book and do the same? Morally, I shouldn't give a shit, only give a hoot about my own conscience, but... hhmmm.... I feel as if I don't owe this crappy company anything.

Anyways, idle thoughts at 0545. Back to doing my emails, eh?

UPDATE :
Back at work, testing websites to see, and woo - I can even log on to
OK Cupid. This is bordering on ridiculous :o Before the 'net ban, I couldn't, but now I can? Heh heh heh... looks like I'm going to be moderating from work now. Heh.
